PPL is planning to install a 12-mile, 500kV power transmission line that cuts through the Sugarloaf Valley. PPL’s plans include:

  • Tower height: 240 feet

  • Encroaching on private property and existing dwellings

  • Exposing residents to added EMFs

  • Devaluing land - offering substantially less than land is worth to landowners and homeowners

  • Enforcing century-old rights-of-way

  • Using pesticides to control weeds

  • Generating power that will not benefit Sugarloaf Valley residents

  • Destruction of environmental and natural resources

There are alternative routes for PPL’s proposed project that satisfy the energy need while preserving the land and rights of our community. We urge you to learn more about the project, ask questions, and reach out to your local and state lawmakers.
